Android Users Group

Anyone who has an Android cellphone or tablet can benefit from this group. Learn how to maximize the benefits of your Android. Meets Tuesdays at 3:30 pm.

Aqua Girls

Interested in water aerobics? Join the Aqua Girls in the main pool Monday thru Saturday at 8:15 am.

ATV Club

Let’s go ATV’ing! This group meets every Wednesday at 8:00 am in the parking area by Palm Park for a day out and about. Why not join them?

Art Group

This group of artists work in watercolor, oil, acrylics and colored pencils in our Art Studio. Meeting days and times will vary depending on the medium.

Beading
Our Bodacious Beaders is a group that loves working with beads to make jewelry. This group meets every Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
Bible Study

Interested in learning more about the Bible? Join us Tuesday mornings at 8:00 am for thought-provoking discussions.

Bike Club

The Palm Creek Bike Club is composed of the more serious bicycle riders. We ride three days a week, 30 to 40 miles, 12-15 mph. You must be self-sufficient and we require helmets/tubes.

Billiards

We have both men’s and women’s teams that participate in inter-community tournaments. We have six beautiful tables on which to play. Mixed doubles play on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in the Billiards Room.

Bingo

Bingo is played every Monday night in the Ballroom. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Games start at 7:00 pm but you’ll want to come early to get your cards ready for a night of action.

Book Club

If you enjoy reading, this is a club for you. We meet every Friday at 2:00 pm to discuss books chosen for reading.

Cardio-A Pilates

Start your mornings with some exercise in our Ballroom! This combination of cardio, yoga and pilates is led by a personal trainer. We have classes most Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 am

Cards

Have a particular card game you’d like to play with friends? We have reserved the Cholla Room on Friday evenings at 7:00 pm as well as the Sonora South on Saturdays at 7:00 pm for card play.

Cards - 500

This is a four-player game where you make bowers, or tricks, much like Euchre. Players use a standard deck of cards but only 4 through Ace and one Joker. Meets Thursdays at 6:30 pm.

Chapel

Non-denominational chapel services are held Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in our Ballroom. Come join in the worship services.

Chorus

Love to sing? We do! Come join the Palm Creek Chorus. We meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:00 pm.

Color Pencil

Are you interested in learning how to draw with color pencils? Group instruction begins in November on Tuesdays at 9:00 am in our Art Studio. Another session starts in January and meets on Wednesdays at 12:30 pm.

Computer Club

Want to better understand the power of your computer? Not sure of software capabilities? Come listen to our experts. The Computer Club meets every Wednesday at 9:30 am.

Cribbage

Cribbage is a card game traditionally for two players, but commonly played with three, four or more, that involves playing and grouping cards in combination which gain points. Cribbage is played on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30 pm.

Dog Agility

Our Dog Agility Club meets January through March. Agility classes are held each month where both the dog and handler learn how to work together to make a winning team.

Dominoes

A game played by two to four people with rectangular 28 gaming pieces called domino tiles. Players take turns placing similar tile ends next to each other. This group meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm.

Drama Club

Want to put your acting skills to use? Join the Drama Club. Auditions will be held in December for play scheduled in the winter. Rehearsals dates will vary.

Duplicate Bridge

Duplicate Bridge is one of our most popular games. We have three sessions a week – Sundays at 6:00 pm, Mondays at Noon, and Wednesdays at 6:00 pm.

Euchre

This game involves four players, two sets of partners. Using a pinochle deck of cards, you bid on the number of tricks you will take, up to eight. The first team to score 10 points wins the game. We play Mondays at 6:00 pm.

Friday Fun Crafts

This group gathers on Fridays at 10:00 am to embark on a variety of craft projects. Every week there is a new project. Everybody is welcome!

Game Night

This is an opportunity for groups of players to come together to play dominoes, pinochle, or any other game they choose. This group meets on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm. A second group meets on Saturdays at 7:00 pm.

Genealogy

This club provides assistance to members searching for their ancestors. They have workshops, guest speakers, field trips and an extensive library of genealogy material. The group meets on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm.  Visit Our Palm Creek Genealogy Club's Blog

Gourd Art

Gourd art involves creating works of art using hard-shell gourds as an art medium. Gourd surfaces may be carved, painted, sanded, burned, dyed, and polished. Join us on Thursdays at 9:00 am to have some fun with gourds.

Hand & Foot

This game is a variant of canasta played in teams where you are dealt two hands. You must exhaust your first hand before you can pick up the cards in the second hand. Play and objectives are much like canasta.

Hiking Club

Interested in exploring the parts of Arizona most folks never see? Join the Hiking Group. There are several hikes each month to nearby points of interest. See Activities for details.

History Book Club

We meet once a week and review 4-5 books over the season. Meetings include great discussion, videos, slides and field trips. If you enjoy history, you’ll enjoy this club. Meetings are held on Thursdays at 6:30 pm.

Horseshoes

What about an old-fashioned game of horseshoes?  Our club meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to engage in friendly games of pitching. Got good aim? Join us at the horseshoe pits near the Tennis Courts.

iPad

Learn how to use that iPad or iPhone! Join us on Sundays at 1:00 pm to learn how to maximize the capabilities of iPad or iPhone. A second class is held on Mondays at 10:00 am.

Lapidary

Our Lapidary Club is composed of artisans who form stones, minerals or gemstones into decorative items such as cabochons, engraved gems and faceted designs. You’ll find them cutting, grinding and polishing their pieces. Wire-wrapping classes are held on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm.

Lawn Bowling

This low-impact sport is especially suited for seniors. Participants roll a “bowl” which is like a ball but with a bias,  aiming for a small white ball called a jack. A 2 hour free lesson is offered typically 2 days per week in season which prepare participants to play in the afternoon games called Jitneys. Visit Our Palm Creek Lawn Bowling Club's Blog

Line Dancing

Grab those boots and come learn to line dance! We meet every Monday and Friday at 9:00 am in the Ballroom. Then put that practice to use on Friday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Ballroom.

Mac Users Group

Are you a Mac user? Are you interested in learning how to use your Mac more effectively? Are you looking for a network of Mac Users for support? This is your group. It meets Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 pm.

Mah Jongg

Mah Jongg is a game of tiles involving skill, strategy and calculation. Some say it is similar to rummy. This group meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1:00 pm, as well as Thursdays at 6:30 pm. Come learn to play!

Nantucket Basket Weaving

Learn how to make beautiful Nantucket baskets. This group meets every other Saturday beginning January 14th.

Native American Flute

Come find the song in your heart while learning Native American Flute in our flute circle. Join them on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am. No prior musical experience necessary!

Oil Painting

We have two groups that meet for instruction in oil painting: one for beginners and one for the advanced student. Classes begin in January.

Pattern Dancing

This is the chance for you to learn and practice pattern dances – waltzes, polkas, foxtrots, tangos, etc. This group meets on Mondays at 1:00 pm in the Ballroom. Then put your practice into action on Thursdays at 7:00 pm in the Ballroom.

Pegs & Jokers

Pegs & Jokers is a game for four, six or eight players, using playing cards to move pegs around a special board. This game is played with partners and is akin to Sorry. The objective is to move your five pegs from Start to Home. This group meets every Friday.

Pepper

Much like Euchre, the objective is to take tricks. In this variation, we have three to a team. Try your hand at Pepper on Saturdays at 6:30 pm.

Photo Club

Our photographers meet every Monday morning starting at 9:00 am. Come learn about photography composition, techniques, and camera tools.

Photo Editing

Interested in how to turn those good photos into great photos with software? Come learn the tricks of the trade. This group meets every Wednesday at 9:00 am.

Pickleball

Pinochle

Pinochle games are held every Tuesday evening at 6:15. Come join us!

Poker

Poker is played seven days a week. Texas Hold’em is played on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Omaha Hi/Lo is played on Saturdays and Sundays. Ladies’ poker is played on Tuesdays. On most days, the buy-in is $10.

Poker Classes

Texas Hold’em and Omaha classes are held every Wednesday morning at 9:00 am.

Ponytail Canasta/Hand Foot

Ponytail Canasta is similar to regular canasta but you use 10 decks of cards. The goal is to amass the highest points for canasta books and achieve the minimum requirements to complete the round before your opponents. We have several different groups that play Ponytail. Check the Activities Office for the schedule.

Pottery

We have a very active Pottery Studio that will allow 50 people at a time to work on projects. We have all the potters’ tools imaginable, as well as white and speckled clay, and glazes. Stop by the Pottery Studio for our hours.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Sponsored by the Chapel, this group meets monthly to make shawls for the needy.

Remote Control

The RC (Remote Controlled) Club involves pilots of remote controlled planes, cars, boats and drones.

Scrapbooking/Cards

Have an interest in making your own greeting cards or scrapbook? Join us! We meet on Monday evenings at 6:00 pm, Wednesdays at 9:00 am and Fridays at 9:00 am.

Scrabble

Join us in a challenging game of Scrabble. We play on Tuesday evenings. A $2 entry fee is charged and is used for prize money. We play Scrabble on Thursdays at 6:30 pm.

Sewing/Quilting

Our Sewing/Quilting Room is second to none. Come learn to quilt or work on your own projects. Bring your sewing machine or rent one of ours. We have monitors on duty to assist you. Generally, the room is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, including weekends.  Bring your sewing machine or rent one of ours for $2 per day.  The room is stocked with irons, ironing boards, large cutting stations, cutting mats, rulers, an Accuquilt cutting machine and other miscellaneous supplies, including a cubby to store your machine.

Shuffleboard

The ever-popular game of shuffleboard is alive and well at Palm Creek. The Shuffleboard Club meets Monday thru Friday at 9:00 am at the courts. See their bulletin board for more details.

Silver Smithing

Our Silver Smithers have a great studio for creating beautiful pieces of jewelry from precious metals. Classes are offered for beginning students. Obtain more information at the Silversmith Workshop.

Silver Stretchers

Are you looking for exercise that guides you in some simple stretching that will help keep you flexible? Come join us for low-impact aerobics on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 am.

Simply Stamping

This group meets to explore new tools, techniques and trends in stamping. Make some fun projects, too. Join them on Mondays at 10:00 am.

Singles

This social group meets simply to have fun and enjoy the company of other single residents. They meet for coffee on Mondays at 7:30 am in the Bistro and then get together for game night on Thursdays at 6:30 pm.

Social Bridge

Do you like Bridge but you’re not interested as much in the competition aspect? Try Social Bridge. Mondays at 6:00 pm, Tuesdays at 12:30 pm,  and Thursdays at 6:00 pm.

Social Media

Are you hearing about all the great photos and info on Palm Creek’s Facebook page but you don’t have an account? Want to learn how to establish one? Are you interested in keeping your info private for just your friends? Come learn how to use Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. We have classes for the beginning user and the advanced user. We meet every Friday morning at 9:00 am in the SanTan Room.

Socrates Discussion Group

Enjoy philosophical discussions? Our Socrates Group meets every Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm in the Ocotillo Room to discuss a variety of issues of interest. Looking for an opportunity to express your opinion and be heard respectfully?  Why not give them a try one evening?

Softball

We have men’s and women’s leagues, as well as recreational ball games, on one of the best softball fields in the county.  We also run several tournaments throughout the season, and also have a traveling team to attend outside tournaments in the local area.   Enjoy a fresh grilled hot dog or hamburger, and let’s play ball! Visit Our Palm Creek Softball Club's Blog

Spanish Class

We offer two levels of Spanish instruction. One for the beginner and one a little more advanced, for the traveler. Classes start in January and will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am.

Stained Glass

Our Stained Glass group gives instruction in the various forms of glass art throughout the season. We have classes in fusion, mosaics and foil. Classes are held in the evenings. Sign-up is in our Stained Glass Studio.

Tennis Club

Ukaholics

Our Ukulele players gather each Wednesday at 9:00 am for a morning of strumming. Join them for some good ol’ fashioned Hawaiian music.

Veteran's Social

Come socialize with your fellow veterans. Learn about VA benefits and helpful contacts in the community who can assist you with your disability claims. This group meets the last Friday of each month.

Water Aerobics

Why not start the morning with 45 minutes of water aerobics? We meet every day except Sunday in the North Pool at 8:30 am.

Water Volleyball - League

Every Monday and Friday at 11:00 am residents gather for league water volleyball at the Sports Pool.  Are you interested in competition? This water volleyball is for you.

Water Volleyball - Mens League

Men’s League Water Volleyball plays every Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Sports Pool.

Water Volleyball - Open

Up for a friendly game of water volleyball? Join us any day of the week at 2:00 pm at the Sports Pool.

Watercolor

We have three watercolor classes, depending on your skill level. Beginning students meet on Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 pm. Intermediate students meet on Fridays at 9:30 am. An advanced group meets on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm.

Wood Carving

You’ll find our wood carvers meeting every Tuesday morning at 9:00 am. Stop by at any time for instruction.

Wood Shop

Our Wood Shop is packed with woodworking hand tools and power tools that can be used to make or repair any desired wooden item. An orientation is required. There is a nominal $1 per hour shop fee.

Writers Club

Are you a writer with the desire to have your work critiqued and help others by critiquing their work? Join our Writers Club on Mondays at 9:30 am.

Yarns & Threads

For anyone who loves any type of handiwork: knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross stitch, beading, needlepoint, handanger, etc. No classes are offered but there is usually someone to help out. We meet on Mondays at 9:00 am.

Yoga
Start your morning off with basic Yoga. This group meets at 7:30 am on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Zumba

Here’s another opportunity to start your day with a little bit of exercise. Join the Hour of Power, where you’ll be engaged in Zumba. This group meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 am in the Ballroom.
